Over the years Sports Therapy has progressed from treating 'injured athletes', to dealing with many common muscular complaints such as back pain, mobility problems, postural problems and work related conditions. Our Sports Therapists have experience of working with elite sports people and general members of the public with chronic pains and injuries.

Our Sports Therapists Gemma, Sophie and Kevin are trained to use the following tools to help identify and treat your specific problem:

Postural Assessments, to identify any imbalances that may be causing (or likely to cause) musculo-skeletal problems.  Using a variety of unique bodywork techniques combined with stretching and strengthening exercises, we can assist in improving your posture. Postural improvements can help with sporting performance and general health and wellbeing.

Injury Treatments and Rehabilitation, once we have identified your problem, we will treat with a combination of Electrotherapy equipment, such as Ultrasound and Interferential, and Manual Therapy.

Sports Massage, this is used to help to keep muscles supple and toned. It helps to keep joints mobile and can improve sporting performance and flexibility.   Pre-event sports massage can help to reduce the risk of injury from sprains, strains and muscle tears.

Remedial Massage, sometimes wrongly classed as 'deep tissue massage', our remedial massage techniques are used to help alleviate muscular problems, and can assist with reduction of pain, increase range of movement in joints, and rid the muscles of scar tissue.  Whiplash, repetitive strain injury and back pain are some of the problems successfully treated.

Exercise Therapy, used post injury for rehabilitation, to help improve performance and ensure your speedy return back to sport, exercise or activity.

Sports Therapy has become widely used in the corporate world, as a way for companies to assess and treat many work related problems such as back pain and what is commonly known as 'repetitive strain injury'.

The benefits of treatments are amazing. We have had fantastic results in treating people with the following:

  • Muscular aches and pains
  • Migraines
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Digestive disorders
  • Bad circulation
  • Headaches
  • Build up of bad toxins and impurities
  • Deficit of natural feel good and pain-killing chemicals

Myofasical Release
A relatively new therapy to the UK, Myofascial release has over the past few decades proven to be the most effective form of manual therapy treatment.

Where Physiotherapy and regular massage focus specifically on muscles, Osteopathy and Chiropractic on the skeletal system,  Myofascial Release focus' on the release of the bodies most flexible yet sturdy tissue which is the fascia. This type of connective tissue surrounds each and every muscle and organ in the body. It's continuity and endlessness, mean that the effect of it's restriction can cause imbalance in the joints of the body which in turn causes an imbalance on posture, which in turn compromises the bodies ability to function to it's optimum.

To get the most out of Myofascial Release we focus on posture. There is a blue print of the body whereby balance is key, with this in mind I work to re-establish balance by focusing on releasing key areas of fascia that could be holding the body in tilted positions. Myofacial Release lengthen these key areas to rebuild the building blocks and create the balance that the body requires.

This is an extraordinary technique that has extraordinary benefits. General well-being, sleeping patterns, emotional health, allergies, immune system, digestive system, circulatory system and most importantly pain, can be improved by working the fascia and re-balancing posture.
